I am a Pennsylvania voter writing to urge you to oppose the SAVE Act.
I believe this legislation would create unnecessary barriers to voting for many eligible Americans, including women, seniors, military families, naturalized citizens, and minority voters. While election security is important, any reforms should be carefully designed to protect both the integrity of elections and the constitutional right of eligible citizens to vote.
I am particularly concerned about voters whose current legal names do not exactly match their birth certificates or other citizenship documents. Married women who changed their names, naturalized citizens, and individuals who may have difficulty obtaining or replacing required documentation could face significant obstacles when registering to vote or updating their voter registration.
Voting is a fundamental right and a cornerstone of our democracy. Policies that risk disenfranchising eligible voters should not move forward unless there is clear evidence that they are necessary and that adequate safeguards exist to prevent lawful voters from losing access to the ballot box.
I urge you to oppose the SAVE Act and instead support measures that strengthen election administration while ensuring that every eligible American can participate in our democracy.
Thank you for your service and for considering my views on this important issue.
