House Bill 2635 moves Kansas in the wrong direction. Doctors are legally required to give full and correct information on all medical procedures, alternative options, treatment, recovery time, and honestly answer all of the patients questions. This is called informed consent, a patient cannot consent to a medical procedure without fully understanding every way they will be affected and other potential options. This bill weakens informed consent, creates unequal medical standards under the law, and places institutional ideology above the rights, dignity, and autonomy of individuals. Rather than empowering people to make their own deeply personal health care decisions, this bill restricts access to information and limits the ability of state and local governments to protect the public. For these reasons, I urge this Committee to oppose House Bill 2635. Kansas voters have demonstrated several times that we are a pro-choice state, and it is your job to uphold our values not your own. There are many medically necessary reasons for an abortion, that could cause the mother to die without it. A miscarriage counts as a spontaneous abortion. A child cannot be forced to kill herself giving birth to her abusers baby. The science is very clear on when and how the fetus is affected. Your job is by the people and for the people. You HAVE to do what your people want, and your people have made it very clear that we want to be fully informed to make our own medical choices and have full bodily autonomy. Your personal ideals cannot change the laws without the support of your people. It is absolutely unacceptable and evil to restrict and control women’s bodies and force pregnancies to completion, regardless of consequences or personal freedom. This is yet another example of you single-handedly ruining American values of freedom, dignity, consent, and autonomy. If you supporters had been aborted, America would be much better with officials who can actually think and care about others. I also find it very interesting that you’ll ignore a HUGE wealthy sex trafficking ring that is abusing, torturing, raping, killing, and eating children but push this to “protect children”? I sure don’t want to give birth just to have my child stolen, raped, abused, and eaten. If you actually have the smallest desire to protect children, stop ignoring the Epstein files!! There must be an investigation and an impeachment immediately. Trump (a convicted felon) has publicly associated with Epstein for decades and is mentioned over a MILLION times in the files. THAT IS THE CLEAR WAY TO PROTECT CHILDREN. This bill protects no one, and will only further HARM children, as anyone with a single brain cell can see plain as day. Either you are complicit and covering up these crimes, or the stupidest people alive just wasting breath until you die. Your choice will show if you truly care about America, women, children, autonomy, or the medical field.
