Reject The Sunshine Act - protect morning sunlight
To: Sen. Moran, Sen. Marshall
From: A verified voter in Lyons, KS
July 19
Please vote NO on the Sunshine Act calling for permanent daylight savings time.
I support eliminating time changes, but we need to align with permanent STANDARD time, not daylight savings.
Our bodies need early morning sunlight to set our circadian rhythms, regulate our mood, metabolism, sleep cycles, hormones, and much more. Permanent daylight savings means some places would not see sunlight until 10am in winter.
We already tried this. In 1974, the US implemented permanent daylight savings and kids were walking to school, people were going to work in pitch dark. Accidents increased. People died. We repealed it inside a year.
Please REJECT permanent daylight savings and The Sunshine Act. Lock the clock to the sunrise, not a late sun.
