Urgent: Demand for Investigation and Accountability in Minneapolis ICE Shooting
I am writing as a deeply disturbed and heartbroken constituent after watching video footage of what appears to be the brutal killing of a man by federal law enforcement agents in Minneapolis.
The footage shows a man restrained on the ground, struck repeatedly, and then shot at close range. No matter one’s political beliefs or views on immigration, no human being deserves to be beaten and killed in the street. This should horrify every American.
My father was only 17 years old when he fought Nazis in World War II. He risked his life to stop authoritarianism, brutality, and the idea that some human lives matter less than others. He believed deeply that America stood for justice, dignity, and accountability. Watching this video felt like a betrayal of everything he fought for.
This is not a partisan issue.
This is not a left or right issue.
This is a human issue.
I am asking you to publicly demand:
1. A full and independent investigation into this shooting
2. Immediate release of all body camera footage, surveillance video, and operational details
3. That the agents involved be placed on administrative leave pending investigation
4. Congressional oversight hearings into ICE enforcement practices and use-of-force policies
If we allow state violence without accountability, we endanger the very foundation of our democracy. Power without accountability always becomes abuse.
Please use your position to demand transparency, justice, and reform. Lives depend on it.
