Please do something about Elon Musk
To: Sen. McConnell, Sen. Paul
From: A constituent in Versailles, KY
February 4, 2025
l am a constituent from 40356. I’m writing to implore you to do something about Elon Musk.
At this moment, our federal constitution is in crisis.
Elon Musk-an unelected, unappointed, unconfirmed individual, in charge of a "department" that has no Congressional authority-has sent folks into OPM to download American's private, personal data in violation of the law and the Constitution.
He has claimed the right to veto government spending approved by Congress-a power deemed illegal by the Supreme Court when exercised by the President, let alone a non-governmental official.
I cannot emphasize enough that if this is allowed to continue, we lose our constitutional democracy. Elon Musk has not had constitutional authority delegated to him in any official capacity. He does not have the power of the purse. That is YOUR POWER. He is making a mockery of our union and usurping your authority.
I am asking that you forcefully speak out against an unelected billionaire having undue influence on and control over our government's data, personnel, and payment systems. Refuse to cooperate with Musk's private enterprise masking as a government agency.
Thank you.
