I am your constituent and I was appalled by the performance of the CEO of United Healthcare in front of a the House Energy and Commerce committee On January 24, 2026. He was presented with evidence from federal filings that United Healthcare’s claims denial rate for ACA plans was 33% - he claimed it was less than 2%. Evidence was given of a three year old girl with a bladder tumor whose doctors needed to treat her to save her life. United Healthcare was the family’s insurer and denied the claims. Total cost was over $1 million and the family had to file bankruptcy. Their daughter lives but no thanks to their health insurer who thought the girl’s death would just be a way to save money.
ENOUGH IS ENOUGH. We need health insurance that works, like a published insurance trust paying private providers for all of us. It is way cheaper than what we do now and would cover everyone WITH NO MEDICAL BANKRUPTCIES.
A Gallup poll recently shows that 612% of Americans want the government to get in the game and make sure we all have health insurance - WHAT ARE YOU WAITING FOR? ENACT HR 3069, the Medicare For All Of Us Act. Thank you.
