Vote No on Funding for Military Action Against Iran

To: Sen. Hickenlooper, Sen. Bennet, Rep. Crank

From: A constituent in Monument, CO

March 19

Vote no on any supplemental appropriations or authorization for military action against Iran. This war lacks congressional approval and violates the Constitution's requirement that Congress declare war. The Strait of Hormuz remains open. Ninety ships, including oil tankers, have crossed since fighting began, and Iran continues exporting millions of barrels of oil. There is no humanitarian crisis or threat to global commerce that justifies this escalation. The administration is manufacturing urgency to bypass proper oversight. Congress has the power of the purse. Use it. Denying funding is the most direct way to end an unauthorized conflict. I expect you to oppose any emergency spending bills or continuing resolutions that include money for operations against Iran. No member of Congress should enable a war they never voted to authorize.
