I am writing to express my strong opposition to any proposal or legislation that would allocate taxpayer funds toward the construction of a Trump-branded ballroom or similar private development project.
At a time when many communities are struggling with rising costs of living, underfunded public schools, limited access to healthcare, and crumbling infrastructure, it is deeply inappropriate to prioritize public funds for projects that primarily benefit a private individual or brand. Taxpayer dollars should be used to serve the public good—not to subsidize vanity projects or political figures.
I am particularly concerned about the bill introduced by Senator Lindsey Graham that could open the door for this type of spending. Legislation that enables or justifies directing public funds toward private luxury developments sets a dangerous precedent and undermines public trust in government accountability and fiscal responsibility.
Our government should be focused on investing in essential services and programs that improve the lives of everyday Americans—such as education, healthcare, infrastructure, and economic opportunity—not on projects that offer little to no meaningful public benefit.
I urge you to oppose any measure that would allow taxpayer money to be used for the Trump ballroom or similar private ventures. Please stand with your constituents in protecting public funds and ensuring they are used responsibly and equitably.
Thank you for your time and consideration. I look forward to your response and to seeing you take a stand on this important issue.
