I am a constituent. I'm writing to urge you to support HB 1556, which would raise the minimum age to purchase semi-automatic rifles from 18 to 21. It's been nearly three years since the Uvalde tragedy, and families are still waiting for action. On April 18, 2023, those families waited 13 hours to testify in support of this bill. Their only wish is to prevent future tragedies. Polling shows that 85% of Texans—including 78% of Republicans—support this policy. We need a hearing on HB 1556 now. Please show leadership and prioritize public safety. Thank you.
