Gun Control I'll send this after all mass shootings. And this time it's another school Contrary to most gun rights advocates thoughts, gun control doesn't mean taking guns away from everyone. It's about making it harder for criminals to get them. Here's what I mean by gun control: Universal background checks. You want a gun? You and all adults in the house, have to clear a background check. Education. You want a gun? You have to go to a gun safety course. Learn proper handling & storage, ways of ensuring no one can accidentally get it & harm others, especially a child. A locked gun cabinet is an absolute mandatory item. They will also help you with any paperwork required for your purchase. Guns & ammo only sold at authorized dealers. No gun show purchases, no internet. Dealers must be approved & trained on rules on the sale & reporting of suspicious transactions. We require a license to sell alcohol, you should need one to sell a gun or ammo. We require bars to cut off patrons they believe have had too much to drink, we can require gun dealers not sell to someone they have concerns about. For personal transfers your local gun shop will process the transaction for you, like a consignment store will do clothing. They handle the sale for you, running all checks & ensuring that the proper paperwork is filed. You pay them a small fee, normally a percentage of the sale price. Registration of guns. We make you register your car, you should have to register your gun. Liability insurance. You loan your gun to someone and it’s used in a crime, too bad, you shouldn’t have given someone else your gun. Your gun is stolen and you don’t report it? Too bad, you are paying for this, you should be aware of your guns location at all times. NO LARGE CAPACITY MAGAZINES!!!! There is no need for home protection or hunting to have an AR-15. NONE AT ALL! Nothing that holds more than 6 bullets, no armor piercing, no automatic or any conversion that allows a gun to be automatic. We need this to be universal, across the board. No this state does this, that state does that. If this is a constitutional issue & a right protected by the federal constitution, then it’s a federal law & the feds get to dictate this one. It also allows for consistency & no crossing state lines to get a gun easier. If we can say there is a concern & you can’t get on an airplane, your ass sure as hell doesn’t need to be able to buy a gun. I’m all for gun ownership if you want to own one. I personally am not a fan, but I respect that I have relatives that are responsible gun owners. Keep in mind, this is a device that used as intended, it is going to cause major injury or death. By it’s very nature, a gun is designed to kill. Why not make it harder for bad shit to happen with them and make people who do own them have more personal responsibility for their weapons.
