Pursue lasting Israeli-Palestinian peace through principled US actions.

In light of the ongoing violence and loss of civilian lives in Gaza, it is imperative to pursue an immediate and permanent ceasefire. The relentless bombardment of one of the most densely populated areas in the world has resulted in unimaginable suffering, especially for innocent children caught in the crossfire. As principled individuals, we have a moral obligation to stand firmly against such atrocities and work towards protecting the lives and rights of the Palestinian people. The US government's continued supply of weapons and military aid to Israel enables this cycle of violence and perpetuates the subjugation of Palestinians. An arms embargo on Israel is a necessary step to pressure all parties to negotiate a lasting peace agreement that upholds human rights and respects international law. No amount of professed sympathy can justify inaction in the face of such grave injustices. It is crucial that our nation's policies align with our values of human dignity and equal rights for all. We urge concrete actions to facilitate an enduring ceasefire, initiate meaningful dialogue, and ensure the safety and freedom of the Palestinian people. A resolution to this decades-long conflict hinges on our willingness to confront hard truths and take decisive steps towards a just and sustainable peace.
