Investigate the Epstein files fully, release every document to the public, and prosecute anyone who hid or delayed that release. A House Judiciary Committee report has named the president as an active participant in Jeffrey Epstein's abuse of young women in the mid-to-late 1990s, and includes a new rape allegation. That report also calls for a special investigation into the administration's cover-up of Epstein's crimes. That investigation must happen.
The Justice Department cannot be trusted to police itself here. Former DOJ official Liz Oyer has stated plainly that the department has been "totally captured by the president." That is exactly why an independent investigation is not optional. Suppressing these files is not a bureaucratic delay. It is obstruction, and it should be treated as such. Anyone who sat on this evidence, slowed its release, or buried it to protect the powerful must face consequences under the law.
