Single-Payer Healthcare NOW

To: Rep. Miller, Sen. Husted, Sen. Moreno

From: A verified voter in Strongsville, OH

November 25

Last year on the health insurance marketplace, I was able to purchase a health plan for $350 a month, with a $40 copay for Primary Care appointments, $5 prescription co-pay, with Dental Insurance, Vision and $35 copay for Mental Health coverage. This year on the marketplace, with the intent of keeping all of the providers in 2026 that I’ve been seeing in 2025, I will have to pay $600 a month in premiums, with a $25 prescription co-pay, $100 mental health co pay, and no dental or vision coverage. I make $70,000 a year, and I simply can’t afford that. How am I supposed to get healthcare? Corporate greed taints our healthcare system, our government, and destroys quality of life for middle class people such as myself. This is so unfair, and I’m not the exception to the system, I am a representation of the majority of working class Americans who are struggling to get by off of what is supposed to be a living wage. You sit in DC and worry about your own pockets and rising the ranks of our government, while the rest of us struggle to make ends meet. It’s despicable and it needs to stop. Have you no soul? Have you no decency?
