Vote No on H.J. Res 140 to Protect Our Public Lands

To: Sen. Husted, Sen. Moreno

From: A verified voter in Galloway, OH

April 15

Vote no on H.J. Res 140. Do not let extractive industries rape our public lands. Our lands are not commodities to be stripped and abandoned. When mining, drilling, or logging companies move in, they leave behind contaminated water, eroded soil, and communities that bear the costs long after the profits are gone. We've seen this pattern repeat itself: corporations extract wealth while local residents are left with cleanup bills and health problems. This is especially true when foreign interests profit from the pilfering of our land. That is not "America First." Allowing foreign corporations to extract our resources and leave us with the damage is a betrayal of American workers and families. Support stronger environmental protections and require full restoration bonds before any extraction begins. Companies should pay the true cost of their operations upfront, not leave taxpayers holding the bag. Our land, water, and air belong to all of us, and your job is to protect them from permanent damage for short-term gain.
