I am your constituent and I am writing to express my outrage at the conditions of the Krome ICE detention center, as well as other detention centers currently holding immigrants.
These facilities are failing to provide even basic care like food, water, medical care and space to sleep.
People have already died. There is a rumor that the prisoners are only being provided with one cup of water per day.
If that is true, they will all be dead within days. Is that what ICE is trying to accomplish?
If so - stop calling them “Detention Centers” and call them what they are: DEATH CAMPS.
Our grandfathers fought fascism during WWII. They fought and died to liberate people from the Nazi death camps, and to insure it never happened again.
It’s happening again. And this time, America is the bad guy.
Please put a stop to this.
There are people who voted for Trump because they think he is “the Christian President.” But ask yourself - would Jesus support the way these people are being treated?
Because I think he’d be flipping some tables.
This is not what people wanted when they voted for you. Please do everything in your power to help these people. Most of them have no criminal background. Their only crime is being here illegally (if that, even.)
They are human beings and should never be treated like this.
