I'm writing as your constituent to urge you to speak out on Donald Trump's proposed tax cuts for billionaires. This bill would provide the top 5 percent of taxpayers with $1.5 trillion in tax breaks, a massive handout for the ultra-wealthy that would be paid for by gutting programs that working families rely on to survive. This bill would be devastating for our state. In Texas, these tax cuts for billionaires would mean cutting over 104,351 good-paying clean energy jobs for hard-working Texas residents, reducing Texas’s GDP by $20.32 billion in 2035, and increasing Texas’s air pollution by over 83 million metric tons (MMT) of carbon dioxide (CO2) in 2035. This bill would reduce resources for the poorest households while handing even more power and money to the highest earners. It’s a backwards proposal that prioritizes billionaires over basic needs, and it must be stopped. Texas needs you to stand with everyday Americans. Please vote NO on Trump’s tax cuts for billionaires and protect the programs that help keep our communities healthy, fed, and housed.
