I am writing to urge you to hold Robert F. Kennedy Jr. accountable for the damage his leadership and MAHA movement have inflicted on American healthcare and scientific research. As your constituent, I am deeply concerned about the direction of public health policy under an HHS Secretary who consistently opposes scientific and medical consensus in favor of ideology.
Healthcare professionals across the country have documented their alarm in peer-reviewed publications, including a recent Lancet article (PMID: 41763727) that examines the consequences of his approach. When a public health leader's rhetoric conflicts with established evidence, this becomes a patient safety issue, not a matter of legitimate debate. Physicians have a responsibility to evidence-based medicine, and our government health agencies must be held to the same standard.
The cuts to science research under this administration will cause long-term harm that extends far beyond this political moment. These decisions affect real patients, real families, and the integrity of American medical science. Many of us raised concerns before the election about the risks of appointing someone with Kennedy's track record to lead HHS, yet those warnings went unheeded.
I am asking you to take concrete action. Demand Kennedy's resignation or pursue impeachment proceedings if he refuses. At minimum, use your oversight authority to investigate the specific policy decisions that contradict peer-reviewed science and transparent methodology. Public health decisions must be grounded in high-quality data, not distorted evidence serving ideological purposes.
Your constituents deserve health leadership that prioritizes patient safety over political messaging. I expect you to use every tool available to protect Americans from policies that undermine the scientific foundation of our healthcare system. Please inform me of the specific steps you will take to address this crisis.
