I beg you, do everything in their power to oppose and resist the numerous vile assertions and directives aimed at transgender and LGBTQ+ people in Trump's various Executive Orders and official memos. I am not trans, but I am queer, married to a woman; and his actions are dangerous to all LGBTQ people. I spend every day worrying for my own well-being, my rights being threatened next, and for the lives of my trans friends. Michigan is an LGBTQ friendly state, and that is incredible. Please consider putting more emphasis on protecting our rights in such a dangerous political climate, like proposing or cosponsoring rights-affirming legislation to prevent denial of legal identification, prevent banning of gender affirming-care, and protecting existing rights. Thank you.
