I am writing as a deeply concerned constituent to urge you to show real leadership and act immediately.
Recent statements and actions by former President Trump suggesting the use of force against Greenland are reckless and unacceptable. Even the appearance of threatening a NATO partner’s territory gravely damages U.S. credibility, undermines our relationships with European allies, and weakens NATO at a moment when unity and deterrence are essential. This is not abstract geopolitics. It has real consequences for American security, diplomacy, and our standing in the world.
Congress cannot remain silent. The Constitution gives Congress clear authority over war powers and foreign policy oversight. You must use that authority now to publicly and unequivocally reject any threat of invasion or coercion against Greenland, reaffirm U.S. commitments to our allies, and make clear that such actions would be unlawful, dangerous, and contrary to American interests.
Silence or delay sends the wrong message, both abroad and at home. Our allies are watching. Our adversaries are watching. And your constituents are watching.
This is a moment that demands leadership, not hedging. I urge you to speak out publicly, work across party lines, and take concrete action to prevent further damage to our alliances and to the rule of law.
Please act now.
