America does not want war with Iran
To: V.P. Vance
From: A constituent in Middletown, CT
June 23, 2025
I am appalled by your unwavering support of President Trump’s illegal strikes on Iran—actions that were carried out without Congressional authorization. As Vice President, you are sworn to uphold the Constitution. Instead, you’ve defended unconstitutional aggression, arguing these strikes “need not lead to wider war.” But they do—unless Congress reasserts its oversight and halts this escalation .
You campaigned on protecting constitutional norms and avoiding foreign entanglements. Now your defense of these strikes betrays those very principles. Your silence on the absence of evidence for an Iranian nuclear threat is not leadership—it’s complicity.
I demand you speak out and publicly oppose further aggression. Insist on adherence to the War Powers Resolution. Warn the president that dragging America into war without democratic oversight will bring real consequences—for our troops, for our democracy, and for our country’s moral standing.
If you fail to act, you will be remembered not as a steward of the Constitution, but as an enabler of another unjust war.
