Yeonsoo Go is a 20 year old student at Purdue University, the daughter of an Episcopal priest, and an active young Korean Episcopalian. She appeared Thursday, July 31 at 26 Federal Plaza in New York for a routine student visa hearing. She is here LEGALLY, and was in court to apply to extend her student visa, which does not expire until December. The judge set an additional court date in October. She left the hearing and was kidnapped by ICE. She was detained in a hideous mass warehousing room inside the same building with no beds, showers, or hot meals. She is now in Louisiana, 1,300 miles away from her family. I beg you as a US Congressperson to demand that she be released immediately. I’m counting on you as your constituent to uphold the law, and fight for this young person who has been illegally detained. Her parents are frantic. As the spouse of an Episcopal clergy person, this hits very close to home. I can only imagine the terror I would have for my own children.
Thank you for your time and attention.
