Trump’s tariffs are hurting Americans. The stock market is tanking, inflation continuing, and now we’re looking at tremendous increases in consumer goods prices. The only people paying the price for the#e tariffs will be Americans as companies will just build in the cost of the tariffs into their prices. These tariffs won’t spur a resurgence in American manufacturing; that’s a pipe dream right now. Rebuilding the manufacturing infrastructure that corporations destroyed (by constantly chasing the lowest cost) would take decades to rebuild, even if the U.S. economy was booming. In the meantime, the tariffs will just hurt Americans. The Great Depression was spurred on by tariffs and we’re staring into another depression right now because of tariffs. Are you waiting until the U.S. economy collapses and there’s massive poverty and unemployment among working and middle class Americans before you oppose Trump’s horrendous economic policies? Stand up for your constituents — and Texas — and oppose Trump’s tariffs.
