Oppose Interstate 47

To: Sen. Wyden, Rep. Bynum, Sen. Merkley

From: A constituent in Lake Oswego, OR

June 25

I am writing as your constituent to express my strong opposition to the proposed Interstate 47 route as currently planned. The proposed corridor would cause significant and irreversible damage to Yellowstone and Grand Teton National Parks, threatening critical wildlife habitat, water resources, and the ecological integrity that millions of Americans depend on and visit these parks to experience. I urge you to oppose funding or approval for this route and to support alternative corridors that avoid these protected lands. I would also ask that any naming proposal for this interstate avoid honoring a current sitting public official, in keeping with longstanding precedent against naming federal infrastructure after living officeholders. Thank you for representing the interests of your constituents.
