I am very worried about AI and have protested a proposed center in Yorkville. AI centers put a strain on the electric grid, and significantly impact water resources through massive direct consumption for cooling, indirect use in power generation, and the risk of chemical pollution. Now AI leaders are warning that AI development is outpacing our ability to control it. There have been instances where AI has hacked without supervision and even has broken out of their restrictions and coordinated with each other without authorization. Some leaders have warned AI could kill us, and they are serious! I therefire strongly, strongly urge the Senstir to treat the AI crisis with real urgency instead of half-measures. I ask that the Congressman A) Support the Ban Artificial Superintelligence Act to pause advanced development until federal safety regulations are in place B) Support H.R. 9917, the AI Kill Switch Act, to ensure that AI companies are able to reign in their own technology in an emergency. C) Demand AI oversight that addresses data centers' land, water, and energy footprint D) Push for a dedicated, bipartisan congressional committee on AI, regardless of which party controls the House, E) Demand transparency into the Trump administration's AI-related dealings with China F) Hold hearings on AI companies' own admissions that their systems have escaped intended safeguards.
