Fully fund the Fair School Funding Plan, don’t shortchange Ohio children

To: Rep. White, Sen. Blackshear

From: A constituent in Oakwood, OH

April 23

Shorting the Fair School Funding Plan by $400 million in the Ohio Budget Bill is bad for schools, Ohio students and families. The provision capping carry over money is especially devastating for school districts, and penalizes well run districts. This short term attempt to fix the property tax problem is not the solution. Property tax funding of school districts has been declared unconstitutional 3 times. A real fix is to admit that rich Ohioans need to pay their fair share of taxes.
