War powers belong to Congress

To: Sen. Kelly, Rep. Biggs, Sen. Gallego

From: A verified voter in San Tan Valley, AZ

June 22

I am outraged that President Trump ordered a military strike on Iran without congressional approval There was no emergency. No threat to U.S. soil. No justification for bypassing Congress and escalating us toward another war. The Constitution gives war powers to you, not the president. If you don’t act, you’re handing authority over forever. We need hearings. We need pushback. We need a full stop to this escalation and a reminder that Congress still exists. I expect you to defend our democracy. Do not enable war by executive tweet.
