I just heard you speak with BBC News. My goodness, you need to get smarter on this bill. One – the CBO is not a leftist organization. It is a nonpartisan agency of the U.S. Congress established to provide objective, independent analysis of the federal budget and economy. If you don’t like it, YOU can change it, but to lie about it shows your ignorance. Two – please don’t lie about the taxes, we all know the top 1.0% get the BULK of the tax cuts. You have repeatedly ignored my request for you to offer amendments to let the tax cuts EXPIRE for those making over $50M. Three, rural hospitals won’t need a “stabilization fund” if you didn’t defund them in this bill. It’s really ironic that you defund them and ‘save’ them in the same bill. Four, 1.4 illegal person in this country do not even qualify for healthcare. This is because, under federal law, undocumented immigrants are not eligible to enroll in federally funded health coverage programs like Medicaid, CHIP, or Medicare, nor can they purchase coverage through the ACA Marketplaces. Again, your ignorance is on display. Lastly, if this bill SAVES $500B, then WHY are you supporting an INCREASE to the debt limit of $5T (that T as in trillion)?? You don’t need that increase. I don’t need a reply --- you did a disservice to our state in that interview, might rethink next time. Probably goes without saying, but I’ll state the obvious, I disagree with this budget bill.
