I am writing as a constituent who is deeply alarmed and frustrated by the presence and expanding role of ICE in and around U.S. airports. Airports should be safe, neutral spaces for travel—not sites of immigration enforcement. The involvement of ICE in these environments creates fear and uncertainty, especially for LGBTQ people, immigrants, and communities of color who are already disproportionately targeted and scrutinized. No one should feel afraid to board a plane, visit family, or move freely within their own country. This is not what ICE was designed to do. Expanding its footprint into airports blurs critical boundaries, invites profiling, and erodes public trust. It turns everyday travel into a potential point of confrontation and surveillance. I urge you to take a clear stand: • Oppose any expansion of ICE presence in domestic airports • Demand transparency about ICE activity in transportation hubs • Protect vulnerable communities from unnecessary enforcement in public spaces We cannot normalize fear in places meant for public use. I expect leadership and accountability on this issue.
