Learn the Beatitudes — Live by Christ’s Words, Not Political Theater
To: Rep. Loudermilk

October 10, 2025
If you are going to claim faith in Christ, then start by living the words that Jesus Himself spoke — not hiding behind man-made laws while ignoring the people you swore to serve. You frequently invoke Christianity to justify your political choices, yet your actions tell another story. You have supported cruelty over compassion, division over peace, and self-interest over service. That is not what Christ taught. That is not what it means to lead in faith. Blessed are the poor in spirit, for theirs is the kingdom of heaven. Blessed are those who mourn, for they shall be comforted. Blessed are the meek, for they shall inherit the earth. Blessed are those who hunger and thirst for righteousness, for they shall be filled. Blessed are the merciful, for they shall receive mercy. Blessed are the pure in heart, for they shall see God. Blessed are the peacemakers, for they shall be called children of God. Blessed are those who are persecuted for righteousness’ sake, for theirs is the kingdom of heaven. These are Jesus’s true words — not commandments written by men to guide early civilization, but divine instructions for the heart and spirit. Even by those man-made standards, you are failing: you have lied, misled your constituents, coveted power, and turned away from those in need. The Beatitudes are not about control or power — they are about humility, mercy, and justice. You cannot call yourself a Christian while supporting policies that harm the poor, deny healthcare, and punish those already struggling. You cannot speak of God’s will while turning your back on truth and compassion. And now, as this shutdown enters its ninth day, your inaction and partisanship are hurting families across Georgia and the nation. Federal employees are going without pay, programs are halted, and communities that depend on essential services are left in chaos — while Congress collects a paycheck and points fingers. If you want to call yourself a public servant and a person of faith, here’s what you need to do: 1. End the shutdown immediately. Support a bipartisan funding bill that restores stability to government operations and protects essential services. 2. Fully fund the CDC, NIH, HHS, and other public health agencies. These are not partisan institutions — they protect every American family, including yours. 3. Protect healthcare access for those who depend on Medicaid, Medicare, and the ACA. These are moral obligations, not political bargaining chips. 4. Refuse your salary until every federal employee is paid. If they’re sacrificing for this country, you should too. 5. Hold town halls in your district. Stop hiding behind filtered newsletters and meet the people face-to-face. 6. Lead with mercy, humility, and truth. Be the example of integrity that you claim to represent. Stop hiding behind religion to justify injustice. Live the faith you preach. It’s time to serve the people, end this shutdown, and act with compassion worthy of the office you hold.
