I am writing to express my deep concern regarding the Department of Justice’s failure to comply with the Epstein Files Transparency Act.
As you are aware, federal law mandated the full release of these records no later than December 19. However, as of today, January 15, 2026, reports indicate that the DOJ has released less than 1% of the files. This delay is unacceptable and undermines the rule of law that Congress sought to uphold when passing this bipartisan legislation.
While the administration appears focused on distractions—including threats to invoke the Insurrection Act in Minnesota and partisan attempts by the House Oversight Committee to subpoena former President Bill Clinton—the American public remains in the dark about the full scope of Jeffrey Epstein’s network. I am particularly concerned by the following:
• Legal Non-Compliance: The DOJ has missed the statutory deadline for the full release and has failed to provide the required report to Congress detailing redactions and identifying "politically exposed persons."
• Partisan Diversion: Recent actions by Representative James Comer to hold the Clintons in contempt appear to be a selective use of congressional power, especially as the Clintons’ legal counsel has noted that other subpoenaed individuals were dismissed without testimony.
• Lack of Accountability: Transparency should not be a partisan tool. The public deserves the "full release" promised by the law, including all materials related to any high-profile figures, regardless of their political affiliation.
As my representative, I am asking you: What specific steps are you taking to hold the Department of Justice accountable for this flagrant violation of the law?
The Epstein files are not just a matter of historical record; they represent a test of whether our government is capable of delivering justice and transparency when powerful interests are involved. I urge you to demand an immediate and unredacted accounting of these files as required by the Epstein Files Transparency Act.
I look forward to hearing about the actions you are taking to ensure the law is followed.
