Mayor Adams, the message from New Yorkers could not be clearer: they do not trust you, they do not support you, and they do not want you in office. According to the latest AP VoteCast poll, 55% of NYC voters disapprove of you, while only 36% view you favorably. Two-thirds support Governor Hochul removing you from office altogether. These are not close numbers. This is not a city divided. When public confidence in an elected official collapses so completely, there is only one responsible course of action. But this is not just about unpopularity; it is about corruption. Bribery, wire fraud, illegal campaign contributions—these are not the markings of an administration committed to public service. And when federal prosecutors resign in protest because the Justice Department has decided to let you off the hook in exchange for political favors, the stench of wrongdoing becomes impossible to ignore. A leader should answer to the people, not cut deals to secure his own survival. Your administration is unraveling. Your top officials have resigned. Key prosecutors have stepped down rather than participate in the politically motivated dismissal of your case. The public has lost faith. The damage done to City Hall is not abstract; it is real, and it is mounting. Every day you remain in office, you erode trust in the very institutions that keep this city running. A mayor who governs for himself rather than the people is not fit to govern at all. New York City deserves better. It deserves a mayor who leads with integrity, not self-interest. It deserves a government that functions without scandal and backroom deals. And most of all, it deserves a leader who knows when it is time to go. That time is now. Resign.
