An Open Letter

To: Rep. Scanlon

From: A constituent in Havertown, PA

May 12

I’m writing to express my concern about the Supreme Court gutting the Voting Rights Act and allowing states to deny minority populations fair representation. I want the Congressmember to speak out against this clearly political attack on our democracy and protect our constitutional rights by supporting the John Lewis Voting Rights Advancement Act, reintroducing the Freedom to Vote Act, and supporting a federal ban on partisan gerrymandering. I also want the Congressmember to support measures to reform the Supreme Court, such as term limits, court expansion, and limits on the use of shadow docket rulings. I especially want an enforceable ethics code. I believe that there is evidence of bribery, even if they can’t be held accountable for it. Please, get loud, louder than what the leadership is doing. How about the House Dems holding teach-ins on the steps of the Supreme Court? Thanks.
