Support War Powers Resolutions to Stop Military Escalation Against Cuba

To: Sen. Husted, Sen. Moreno, Rep. Davidson

From: A verified voter in Cincinnati, OH

April 30

I need you to support S.J.Res. 124 or H.J.Res. 153, depending on your chamber, to prohibit military action against Cuba without congressional authorization. The Trump administration has already used military force to seize ships supplying Cuba and has threatened a full takeover. This is unconstitutional. Only Congress has the power to authorize war. The humanitarian crisis is already catastrophic. Blackouts now last up to 30 hours. Schools are closed. Hospitals are canceling surgeries and essential medicines are running dangerously low. The United Nations has warned of potential humanitarian collapse if Cuba's fuel needs go unmet. Escalating to military intervention would make this disaster exponentially worse. This blockade and the threat of war serve no American interest. They violate international law and our own Constitution. Congress must reassert its authority over military action and end this dangerous escalation before it spirals into full conflict. Co-sponsor these resolutions and vote yes when they come to the floor.
