Trump declared war. Impeach.

To: Sen. Van Hollen, Sen. Alsobrooks, Rep. Elfreth

From: A constituent in Glenwood, MD

June 22, 2025

For All Officials in the U.S. House and Senate, Over the weekend the President of the United States, Donald Trump, engaged the U.S. in an Act of War against Iran. Article I, Section 8 of the U.S. Constitution clearly states that only Congress has the power to declare war. By bypassing the Constitution, President Trump not only opened the U.S. up to retaliation from Iran and its allies but has invited any country, that has been looking for a reason to attack the United States, a legitimate excuse to join Iran and begin a World War. President Trump has disregarded the U.S. Constitution, the great vision of our Founding Fathers, and most importantly, the will of the people of the United States. I urge you to find the strength to defend our country and our constitution against a President who does not respect either. President Trump has broken the laws of this country by declaring war without congressional approval. This is an impeachable offense. I urge you to find the strength and fortitude to stand up against this heinous abuse of power. Impeach President Trump. You were elected by the people of the United States to serve your constituents and community and to protect this country against people who would abuse it. President Trump has abused this country too much, have the fortitude to stand up and stop him before the damage is permanent. May God be with you.
