Stop Demonizing our Voting Rights

To: Rep. Stogsdill, Sen. Corson, Gov. Kelly

From: A constituent in Prairie Village, KS

January 19

Voting is not a threat to be feared or restricted—it is the foundation of a healthy democracy. Framing participation as suspicious or dangerous undermines public trust and discourages lawful voters from exercising their rights. Policies that make voting harder through unnecessary barriers, intimidation, or misinformation do not protect elections; they weaken them. Secure elections and accessible elections are not opposites—they go hand in hand. I urge you to reject rhetoric and legislation that stigmatize voters and instead support measures that expand access, protect election workers, and ensure every eligible voter can cast a ballot freely and confidently. Respect the voters. Protect the vote.
