FORMAL LETTER FOR CONGRESS / FDA
Subject: Remove Calcium Chloride and Disodium EDTA - Man-Made Firming Agents - From FDA Approved List
To my elected officials,
I am writing from Prosperity, SC as a concerned citizen and mother.
At the kitchen table, I ask this simple test: If I put limestone, hydrochloric acid, and chloroacetic acid on the table and said "dip your finger in and taste it," would anyone do it? No one would.
Yet these are the raw chemicals used to make FDA-approved firming agents in our canned foods:
Calcium chloride is made from limestone (calcium carbonate) reacted with hydrochloric acid.
Disodium EDTA is synthetic, made from ethylenediamine, formaldehyde, and chloroacetic acid.
In the can they keep beans firm and keep color from changing. They are tested for that function and for short-term toxicity in tiny amounts. They are not tested for what happens when families eat them every day for years, combined with dozens of other additives.
I am asking you to mandate a law to remove calcium chloride and disodium EDTA from the FDA approval list and ban them from all foods. Food should be food - every plant that bears seed - not rock and lab chemicals that mummify it.
If you need help communicating this to food manufacturers, I will help.
Dear speaker Mike Johnson; please see below speech that’s prepare for you <3
30-SECOND VIDEO / SPEECH
"We're at the table. You guys got to try this dip. Hey guys, try some limestone. Try some hydrochloric acid. Try some chloroacetic acid. Dip in and pass it around….. No one would, right?
That's what's used to make calcium chloride and disodium EDTA - the firming agents FDA approves for canned beans. They keep the beans mummified, firm, and the same color.
They test if it keeps the bean pretty, not if you should feed it to your family every day for years mixed with 50 other chemicals.
Congress, would you pass that dip around your table? Then take it off the FDA approved list. Ban it from our food."
