This is Rabbi Gershom in Sandstone, MN. Please vote NO on HR 59, censuring Bishop Budde for supposedly mixing politics and religion in her sermon. She was following in the prophetic tradition of speaking truth to power on behalf of "the widow, the orphan, the stranger," the most vulnerable members of society. To condemn her for that would be to throw the Bible out the window, heaven forbid. Whether or not you liked the message, the sermon read profoundly religious.
