I strongly urge that Congress ensure that all people detained by ICE are: 1) treated humanely at all times; 2) arrested only in accordance with judicial warrants for actual violent crimes; and, if detained: 3) provided with access to attorneys; 4) provided with medical care; 5) provided with nutritious, adequate, and respectfully served food three times a day; 6) provided with blankets and appropriate clothing; 7) provided enough space to walk around and lie down; 8) provided with a bed or full size cot; 9) provided with reasonable darkness in which to sleep; 10) treated with respect 24/7; 11) children should not be retained Detainees are people. Immigrants are people. Constitutional rights are for all people in our nation, whether citizens or not. Why are our laws and Constitution not being followed?! You should be ensuring that our laws and Constitution are being followed and you have the ability to enforce them now.
