Hi, I’m a member of Indivisible Westside Los Angeles and a constituent.
The government shutdown could thrust more than 40 million Americans into chaos if they lose SNAP and WIC benefits. Speaker Mike Johnson is refusing to use emergency funds and says the Trump administration is ‘out of resources’ to save these vital programs while simultaneously sending more than $40 billion to Argentina, spending $300 million on a vanity construction project at the White House and ensuring Members of Congress receive paychecks. I appreciate your refusal to accept the Republicans’ healthcare cuts, and urge you to continue standing strong. I also urge you to showcase these cruel contradictions to the American public, and also publicly demand the use of USDA contingency funds and any other available funding sources, to keep these programs running while still holding firm against any federal budget deal that does not extend the ACA tax credits. And last but not least, you must publicly support impeaching Donald Trump, the most corrupt president in American history. Thank you for your time and hard work.
