Tax the rich. Do not raise property tax on working people.

To: Gov. Hochul

From: A verified voter in Brooklyn, NY

February 23

I am a recent homeowner in Bushwick, a proud resident of NYC since 2004. No one likes to pay taxes but I appreciate that my income and property taxes fund the city and state that I love. In the past 20 years there has been a shocking rise in income disparity, with the feeling that the rich are further isolating themselves from the rest of us. They need to pay their fair share of taxes, since whether they ride the subway, attend public schools, have their garbage picked up off the street, etc, or not, they are part of the social fabric that makes our great prosperous thriving city and state. Please tax the rich and do not further raise property taxes. The rich can afford it! Increasing property taxes on already maxed-out homeowners will add additional unnecessary strains on working people in New York. Tax. The. Rich.
