Protect Medicaid, safeguard vulnerable Americans' healthcare access

To: Rep. Johnson, Sen. Rounds, Sen. Thune

From: A constituent in Vermillion, SD

June 3

Over 119,000 South Dakotans rely on Medicaid for their health coverage, including nearly 60,000 children. Cutting funding would strip away this vital lifeline, leaving vulnerable populations like low-income families, people with disabilities, and seniors without access to affordable medical care. South Dakota cannot allow partisan politics to jeopardize the well-being of its most vulnerable citizens who depend on Medicaid for basic health services. Protecting and reinforcing this essential program must be a priority to safeguard a healthy society and robust safety net across the state. Reject proposals slashing Medicaid dollars and instead work to bolster access to quality, affordable care for all South Dakotans.
