I am writing to make sure you understand, as your constituent, that I do not want you to vote yes on the redistricting bill that the House sent to the Senate yesterday, Tuesday, September 9.
You have an obligation to represent me and the thousands of people in your district who are appalled at this cheating and power grab.
As a SLU graduate, you know the Jesuit tradition values independent thought, integrity, and service. The power grabs you and your colleagues have pursued—repealing voter-approved paid sick leave, working to undo the abortion-rights amendment passed by the constitutionally-required majority of Missourians, and now redrawing districts mid-decade at Trump’s demand—betray those values.
The Jesuits who shaped your education would be appalled. The cheaters do not hold the moral high ground here. There’s still time to do what’s right. Vote no on this redistricting.
