I'm writing to express my horror and anger that the State would not only create "Alligator Alcatraz" and go so far as to relish in the nickname. Your morals and values do not reflect mine or those of the Christian teachings you run your campaigns on. First you ignore due process, a basic principle for detention in a civilized society. Then you build an erector set of a facility without basic human rights and dignity in mind because people are trying to make a life for themselves in the US. Even if they have crimes against them, the vast majority are clearly not violent criminals. Even if they were, this is not the Middle Ages and we as a civilized society should be more sophisticated than this. I am furious to see grown men celebrating inhumanity. It is unconscionable. Check yourself. in. Look in the mirror and see if you can find your humanity again.
