Demand Investigation of Epstein Associates and Accountability from DOJ Leadership

To: Rep. Gluesenkamp Perez, Sen. Cantwell, Sen. Murray

February 13

The Department of Justice released over three million pages, 180,000 images, and 2,000 videos related to Jeffrey Epstein on January 30. These documents reveal extensive communications between Epstein and prominent international figures, yet I see no evidence of meaningful investigation or accountability measures being pursued by current DOJ leadership. Former French diplomat Olivier Colom appears more than 2,000 times in these documents. The records show he maintained active correspondence with Epstein after leaving his position at the Élysée Palace, becoming one of Epstein's main contacts in France while working for the Edmond de Rothschild banking group. In September 2013, Colom introduced Bruno Le Maire, described as a former minister and future presidential candidate, to Epstein and requested assistance with fundraising. Email exchanges reveal Epstein's disturbing language about his Caribbean island "with an aquarium full of girls" and comparing women to marine creatures. These revelations demand thorough criminal investigation. Instead, Attorney General Pam Bondi appears to be allowing these matters to languish without action. The American people deserve to know whether individuals named in these documents engaged in criminal conduct, facilitated trafficking, or obstructed justice. Colom's diplomatic background and high-level government connections make this particularly urgent, as does the involvement of other political figures seeking his assistance. I am calling on you to demand that the Department of Justice immediately launch comprehensive investigations into all individuals prominently featured in the Epstein documents, including Olivier Colom and those he connected to Epstein. If Attorney General Bondi refuses to pursue these investigations vigorously, I urge you to support her removal from office and the appointment of leadership committed to justice for trafficking victims. The release of these documents means nothing without accountability. Your constituents are watching to see whether you will stand for justice or allow this to be swept aside.
