Demand a full congressional investigation into Taylor Farms, the FDA's failure to act on lettuce contamination, and the political ties between Taylor Farms and the Trump administration. Americans are getting sick from E. coli and fecal contamination in the food supply, and the agency responsible for protecting us appears to be asleep at the wheel. Taylor Farms actively supported Trump's reelection. That relationship deserves scrutiny when we're asking whether the FDA is applying the same enforcement standards it would to any other company. Regulatory capture is a real threat, and when a major food supplier has political connections to the administration overseeing its regulators, the public has every right to ask hard questions. I want to know whether those ties influenced how — or whether — the FDA pursued accountability here. Hold a hearing. Subpoena the records. Make Taylor Farms and FDA leadership answer publicly for what happened and why contaminated product reached consumers. Food safety is not a partisan issue, and the people responsible for this failure should not be shielded by political relationships.
