You need to act now to stop the Trump administration from seizing control of November's midterm elections. Steve Bannon has publicly predicted Trump will declare a national security emergency before the end of August, and former White House attorney Ty Cobb confirmed Trump's July primetime address was designed to build the legal predicate for exactly that. No president has ever attempted this. The Constitution is explicit: executive power does not extend to controlling election administration.
The data being used to justify this power grab doesn't hold up. The Census Bureau's claim of 24,000 noncitizen voters in 2020 came with no disclosed methodology and was called out by election integrity experts as failing "the laugh test." The DHS figure of 278,000 noncitizens on voter rolls relies on a tool already documented to be inaccurate. This is manufactured panic, not evidence.
Reject the Save America Act. It would hand DHS the power to purge voters from rolls, gut mail-in voting, and impose documentary proof-of-citizenship requirements that would disenfranchise millions of eligible Americans. Aria Branch of the Elias Law Group put it plainly: our elections are secure, and noncitizen voting is not a widespread problem. Stand up, say that publicly, and use every legislative tool available to block this administration's attempt to nationalize elections before November.
