I write as your constituent to urge you to hold firm against Republican demands that would harm working families and strip away essential programs. Republicans are using the threat of a government shutdown to force through policies that are cruel and unsustainable. Meeting them halfway would still mean deep cuts that weaken our communities. If standing firm means a shutdown, I believe it is the lesser cost compared to giving in to measures that break people over the cold. History shows shutdowns end when the public sees who is holding the line and who is causing the harm. Democrats should not shoulder the blame for refusing to give in to extremism. I support you in opposing Republican demands at this juncture, no matter the cost. Protecting people, programs, and our democracy requires strength. Thank you for your leadership.
