Impeach Trump now- I believe it should be clear that the corruption is blatant and you would have to either be stupid or complicit to continue to ignore what is happening in our country. Which are you? It is only in the hope that you are stupid that I write this letter, however- in the event you are complicit with a person who has been a long- time associate of a known child trafficker, continuously bragged about his own crimes against girls and women, and has been fleecing his followers like the con man he’s always been while simultaneously committing crimes against humanity not only in what he referred to as “shithole countries” but in this country as well- I hope you understand we see you. I once asked both Cornyn and Cruz: “who do you value?” When the vote for the ACA pre-existing conditions was occurring. That question remains unanswered save by your actions, which I have continued to watch through all these years as I raise a disabled child in a country that seems keen on committing a silent genocide against it’s own population. As someone who was raised in a cult- they outwardly projected “godliness” and “wholesome family values”, yet secretly committed the worst crimes imaginable against their own children- I can’t help but draw a parallel. Both my childhood environment and the party you all belong to couch your acts and rules as “protection”, “shepherding”, “setting clear limits”, and tend to grandiose language to describe just how GOOD you are. But I have ever been a person who watched the behavior, not the language used to describe it. And I see cruelty. I see control. And I see a tight leash on anything that is “other”, a continuous trickle of marginalized groups who your followers must be pitted against in order for them to be too distracted by their biases to see the real crimes being committed by those who have sworn so-called “sacred” oaths to protect and represent faithfully the people who voted them in and to stand firm by the power the people have given you in protecting their rights as outlined by the Constitution and it’s amendments. I fear I already know the answer to my question posed so many years ago “who do you value?” : and that answer is- Not us. Not my children. Not women, nor disabled folks, not BIPOC, or LGBTQ+, immigrant, or anyone who didn’t fit the original group of people who were allowed to vote when this country was founded: rich, white men. You’ll gladly sell us all out in order to bow before them. I don’t have any real hope that you’ll redeem yourselves, and actually change course. The time for that was long past. I will stand firm in the belief that human lives have value, no matter the label, and I continue to resist the tyranny of a fascist authoritarian scheme to take the worst aspects of humanity and allow them to rule our collective fates.
