Groceries and household sundries are out of sight expensive, health care premiums are skyrocketing, federal employees are losing their jobs with no rhyme or reason, respected flag officers are resigning, the right to due process has been upended, grants for essential research are being gutted, farmers are going broke, preventable diseases are spreading, and on and on and on. There is absolutely no respect for presidential decorum or the American people. Protests across the country yesterday and people were friendly, well-behaved, and unapologetically patriotic. There were funny signs, costumes, and many, many American flags. There was anger, yes, but there was also purpose and engagement at levels I haven't seen in awhile, and it's about damn time. My representatives have lost sight of what’s important and latched on to an idiotic culture war disguised as patriotism, when in reality it’s sole purpose is to take from the working class and give to the one percent. You are not legislating. You are not governing. You are not representing my best interests or the best interests of my family, friends, and literally every person I know. You are a threat to America, and your ideas, policies, and actions are hurting me, my family, and everyone else. Authoritarianism is spreading around the globe because extremely wealthy men are controlling governments and markets to suit their desires, and feckless men like you are complicit in this direct affront to liberty, and any pursuit of happiness that exists. You pervert the law to abide a rapist. The United States government and by extension, the United States have gone from a world leader, to a world joke and it is in part because of your actions. Your capitulation to the billionaire class is democracy’s undoing.
