Allow democratic process to unfold for 2024 presidential election
To: Pres. Biden

June 30
President Biden's performance in the recent debate against Donald Trump has raised serious concerns about his ability to effectively lead the nation for another term. His frequent stumbles, lack of coherence, and struggles to articulate his thoughts clearly demonstrated a worrying decline in cognitive function. At this pivotal juncture, it is imperative that Biden put the interests of the country first by withdrawing from the 2024 presidential race. The office demands a leader with sharp mental acuity and stamina to navigate complex challenges on both domestic and global fronts. Biden's debating shortcomings suggest he may no longer possess the requisite capabilities. For the good of the nation, he should step aside and allow a new Democratic candidate to emerge who can make a stronger case to voters and withstand the rigors of the campaign trail and presidency. Continuing down this path does a disservice to the Democratic party and the American people by obstructing a full vetting of potential successors best equipped to steer the country forward. The responsible course is for Biden to publicly acknowledge his limitations and decline to seek re-election, paving the way for a open nominating process to surface the party's most capable standardbearer for 2024.
